Putin On the Ritz

And now for something completely different ...

Even tough guys have a soft side.  Isn't that what we're supoosed to explore and accept in this post-modern world of toleration?

And a soft musical interlude from the least likely of crooners:

This at a childrens' benefit in St Petersburg in 2010, with such Gliterrati guests as Gerard Depardieu, Goldie Hawn, Kirk Russell, Sharon Stone, and Kevin Costner.

Blueberry Hill (sorry, I mean "Blub-yery Heel") -- that's somewhere in the Katyn Forest, right?  And the lyrics, how appropriate.
But all those vows we made
Were never meant to be

Though we're apart, you're part of me still
"Yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Tallinn."

You can't ... make ... this stuff ... up.

    1. "I'm so ronery." But that was the original Dear Leader, and a parody.

      I just love irony.

I also found a video of a Russian politician singing about getting Crimea back -- very low budget, but what's interesting is that he's accompanied by a fellow with all the emotive power of Keanu Reeves and a blond who looks like a cross between Kate Smith and Guy Fieri.

      Different strokes ...

  2. It's a different culture over there in Rooski land. Most of them are drunk most of the time. Which apparently accounts for their declining population. Kinda hard to make babies when you're pie-eyed.
